Welcome to our EndersUSA office in cyberspace. We are online course developers and instructors in the Social and Behavioral Sciences Department at Housatonic Community College in Connecticut. We also do the same at Central Texas College, which services our US troops through GoArmy Ed and other military installations and learning centers worldwide. This personal site houses all course information, as well as discipline specific research links in many areas of political science, sociology, and psychology. At the Enders Institute link, you can find course syllabi, schedules, and some of our academic writings. The Education area houses information on research writing, academic integrity, career, as well as online education, safety and etiquette issues. The News & Media link offers blogs and news links from around the world, as well as daily feeds from the New York Times. Remember that every site will hold to its own bias and perspective (even government sites) so if you are writing a position paper (or not), know and present all sides of an issue, especially before defending your own argument. Needless to say we would never grade on whether we agree with your position or not, as long as it is defended logically.
On a personal note, we reside on the South-Central Connecticut shoreline overlooking Long Island Sound. Mike has been a Federal attorney in the Social Security Administration for 38 years and has recently retired from the Office of Disability Adjudication and Review. He has two grown children, Robert and Rebecca, who reside in Indiana, and we both have an eight year old son, Adam Jefferson, whom we adopted at birth from Guatemala in Central America. The About Us section holds more info about our family, our backgrounds, academic credentials and Mike's Make-It-So blog, named after Captain Picard's favorite saying. And yes, we are a family of hardcore Trekkie's.
Thank you for visiting our site, please make use of it for your current course with us and bookmark it for future reference!

On Social Justice:
"A just law is a man-made code that squares with the moral law or the law of God. An unjust law is a code that is out of harmony with the moral law. To put it in the terms of Saint Thomas Aquinas, an unjust law is a human law that is not rooted in eternal and natural law." (view full letter)

On Economics:
“Little else is requisite to carry a state to the highest degree of opulence from the lowest barbarism but peace, easy taxes, and a tolerable administration of justice: all the rest being brought about by the natural course of things.”
-Adam Smith-
Lecture in 1755
On Politics:
"With all these blessings, what more is necessary to make us a happy and prosperous people? Still one thing more, fellow citizens -- a wise and frugal government, which shall restrain men from injuring one another, which shall leave them otherwise free to regulate their own pursuits of industry and improvement, and shall not take from the mouth of labor the bread it has earned. This is the sum of good government, and this is necessary to close the circle of our felicities."
-Thomas Jefferson-
